Our History

JanAire began in 1987 when founder, Lowell Anderson, had the spark of genius which led to the creation of the “PolyVent”, curtain. This innovation has become one of the world’s leading products, replacing the conventional curtains and doors on livestock buildings.

We installed our first two “PolyVent” and “RidgeVent” systems on hog finishing units in Minnesota in the fall of 1987. That winter temperatures fell below –35°F on three separate occasions. The following spring, we had two happy customers, laying the foundation for our first naturally ventilated curtain system. We took what we learned, made a few refinements, and the following year we had installed JanAire products for seven customers, ranging from hog barns to dairy free stalls, calf barns to turkey finishing buildings.

Since then, we have installed thousands of JanAire Air Curtain Systems across North America, Canada, Russia, and Europe. Over the next 40 years, we continued to improve our products and our customers continue to innovate with creative applications for our systems.

The JanAire name and legacy has been handed down to current owner and president Pat Anderson. Pat is the son of founder Lowell Anderson and has worked along side his father for many years. In the process, the commitment to craftsmanship and quality has been instilled in this family-owned business.
